Symbol of love, wonder of world "Taj" which is situated on the south bank of river Yamuna in Agra.It  was built by the Mugal emperor, Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took almost 30 years(1628-1658). to complete the monument. It is said about the Taj that around 32 million rupees were spent on the building of Taj which is approx US$827 million and around 20,000 workers worked continuously to built this monument. Tajmahal was built in the memory of Shah Jahan's beloved wife Mumtaz. In this monument there are four tombs in which two are visible for tourist every day except Friday. and two main tomb which are inside a lower dark chamber which are not open for visitors. This tomb is the main focus of the entire Taj monument. It is large white marble structure standing on square plinth like as most Mugal tombs these tombs basic elements are Persian origin. There are reflected tiles used in Tajmahal in which of light reflects from tiles and it looks pretty amazing.

The best scene of Taj presents in Poornima when light reflects on Taj it looks very amazing i can't explain this in words so if you want to feel it then just come for "Deedar-e-Taj" in poornima moon light.

There is a famous story related to Taj that is Shah Jahan cut down the hand of all 20,000 employees after building of this monument so that such type of building could not be built again. We never found any official report on this story but if you will ever go to Taj then guide will tell you this story this is story or fact no one knows but this is story is very famous between them.
There is also a story that take place in guide's talk that Shah Jahan wanted to make a black Taj in front of Tajmahal for himself this was his dream but he could not full fill his dream because of his son Aurangajeb caged him in prison so his dream never come on earth.

In 1983 UNESCO declared it as World Heritage. Tajmahal attracts almost 9-10 million visitors in a year.
"In the year of 2007, Taj-Mahal was declared a winner of the New seven Wonders of the World."
